Christine is a registered nurse and policy analyst with a BA and MA from Victoria University of Wellington, Te Herenga Waka. Christine began her career in clinical practice and teaching at Christchurch and Wellington Hospitals and went on to lead several nursing services in community and primary care.
In the 2000s she worked at the Ministry of Health on service design and improvement of a wide range of nationally provided services and national workforce development projects – including the establishment of Primary Health Organisations, Nurse Practitioners, and nurse prescribing.
From 2001 to 2007 Christine managed the National High-Cost Treatment Pool. Latterly she was part of the Ministry’s team to develop and implement the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
Recently Christine was Director of Nursing for Nelson Bays and Marlborough Primary Health Organisations and Quality Improvement Manager at Marlborough PHO. Christine is a Fellow of the College of Nurses Aotearoa.
