Jo is a nurse practitioner and a member of the Medical Team at Hospice Marlborough. Originally from the West coast where she grew up in a farming family, she worked for many years in Coronary Care and ICU at Grey Base Hospital, before moving to Nelson and falling into palliative care at Nelson Tasman Hospice.
Jo moved to Marlborough in 2004 and after a year at Wairau Hospital, joined Hospice Marlborough as one of the first 3 community nurses.
Jo believes in supporting patients and families wherever they may be and is passionate about ongoing learning in order to provide the best care she can to patients and whānau. It was this that inspired her to complete a Masters in Nursing and several years later her Nurse Practitioner qualification.
Jo enjoys being part of a team of staff and volunteers that work together to care for palliative patients and their whānau, and appreciates the combination of talent, wisdom and especially the humour of her colleagues, in whatever role they play.
