Julie moved to Blenheim in 1991 and for last twenty-three years has lived in the Awatere Valley, with husband Terry. Between them Terry and Julie have four adult children and six grandchildren.
Julie has worked in the NZ public health service in clinical and executive management roles, at Wellington, Whanganui, and Nelson Marlborough DHBs, and most recently for Te Whatu Ora, at Te Toka Tumai (Auckland City Hospital). She has also worked in central government, including as advisor for a Minister of Health. She is a registered general and obstetric nurse (RGON), has a Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Business Administration.
Julie is committed to reducing the health inequalities and improving the health and wellbeing of our community. She recognises this is only possible through a committed and supported workforce. She hopes her experience enables her to contribute to the ongoing development and success of the specialist palliative services in Marlborough.
